Flowering male and female ƜȅȇĐăßĨê 420 plants (with Liquid Plant Food dispenser). |
ƜȅȇĐăßĨê 420 is an all-new ḈḁṇṇḁḇḭṦL product that uses mesh to make your Second Life cannabis growing experience more realistic. Developed by Cyberstar Heavy Light Industries in consultation with the ḈḁṇṇḁḇḭṦL developer (Djeaux Farrasco), ƜȅȇĐăßĨê 420 is compatible with ḈḁṇṇḁḇḭṦL Liquid Plant Food, Plant Auxin, and Grow-Lites. It was designed to follow the old ḈḁṇṇḁḇḭṦL rule, "one prim weed you don't have to feed."
ƜȅȇĐăßĨê 420 vs ḈḁṇṇḁḇḭṦL OG
ƜȅȇĐăßĨê 420 is not a replacement for ḈḁṇṇḁḇḭṦL OG (version 4.19,9xx series) plants. Limited Edition ḈḁṇṇḁḇḭṦL OG plants will still be released periodically.
Because the mesh model limits the plants as a "canvas," ƜȅȇĐăßĨê 420 plants will not display seasonal images, cartoons, and other special textures. At the same time, ƜȅȇĐăßĨê 420 plants require no communications with out-world servers, so (in theory) ƜȅȇĐăßĨê 420 can continue functioning as long as no major changes are made to the Second Life platform, regardless of what Djeaux Farrrasco may do with his web server. In other words, ƜȅȇĐăßĨê 420 can go feral.
When first germinated, ƜȅȇĐăßĨê 420 seeds "sprout" as a seedling. This stage grows until the plant reaches 10% maturity. At that point, it becomes a vegetative plant that grows until it reaches full maturity. Mature plants are morphologically different flowering female and male plants.
ƜȅȇĐăßĨê 420 growth works differently from ḈḁṇṇḁḇḭṦL OG growth. ḈḁṇṇḁḇḭṦL OG plants have regular (90 minute) growth cycles, and the plants grow by a variable percentage each cycle depending on their genetics, whether they are fed, and whether they've been dosed with Plant Auxin.
Feeding is automagic! If ƜȅȇĐăßĨê 420 plant detects the presence of Liquid Plant Food within a 3 meter range, the plant will grow at its genetic rate. If it doesn't detect Liquid Plant Food, the plant will grown 1% every 90 minutes. (Note: ƜȅȇĐăßĨê 420 does not work with "Standard" Food Spikes.)
ƜȅȇĐăßĨê 420 plants grow the same amount during each cycle, again depending on feeding, auxin, and genetics. Instead, the length of the growth cycle changes. An unfed (or very slow growing) plant will grow on a 90 minute cycle, but depending on genetics a ƜȅȇĐăßĨê 420 plant might grow on a 45 or 22.5 minute cycle (or even faster!)

Because ƜȅȇĐăßĨê 420 has a different growth "engine" than ḈḁṇṇḁḇḭṦL OG, the growth rate stat is different. For OG plants, the Growth Rate stat is the percent the plant will grow every 90 minutes. For ƜȅȇĐăßĨê 420, growth rate tells how much shorter the growth interval is. A growth rate of 2 means that the plant will cycle every 45 minutes (90 minutes / 2) and a growth rate of 3 means that the plant will cycle every 30 minutes (90 minutes / 3).
The ƜȅȇĐăßĨê 420 COA doesn't have a single potency value but displays separate THC and CBD statistics. You can grow for "head" or grow for "med."
Feeding is a final difference between ḈḁṇṇḁḇḭṦL OG and ƜȅȇĐăßĨê 420. The Classic system requires selection between "standard" Plant Food Spikes and Liquid Plant Food. ƜȅȇĐăßĨê 420 uses only Liquid Plant Food. Additionally, OG plants require the grower to "feed" the plants manually or using the HUD. ƜȅȇĐăßĨê 420 plants auto-detect the presence of food; if it's present, they use it, and if it's not present they don't. There is no risk of overfeeding ƜȅȇĐăßĨê 420 plants!
Menu Commands
Growers who have experience with ḈḁṇṇḁḇḭṦL OG will understand most of the menu-driven operations for ƜȅȇĐăßĨê 420. When you click on a seed or plant that you own, you'll see the Main Menu. If you click on a seed or plant that you don't own, you'll see the Guest Menu, which displays the COA and Pedigree (if available). All menus have a Cancel button. This closes the plant's menu "listener," which helps keep down lag. Use Cancel instead of the common "Ignore" button to close menus. Some buttons "toggle," depending on the plant's growth stage or the current setting of that option. Where buttons toggle, they're indicated with a slash / in the listing below. A dash - indicates that a particular function is not available. For example, a Generation 1 plant doesn't have parents stats to display, so the Pedigree button shows a dash. Clicking an inactive button is the same as clicking Cancel.
Some menu options and commands familiar to ƜȅȇĐăßĨê 420 growers are gone. During development of ƜȅȇĐăßĨê 420, a primary goal was to simplify the growing process, and feeding is one are that was streamlined. Feeding ƜȅȇĐăßĨê 420 plants is automatic: so there are no "Feed" or "Food Type" buttons. Hovertext is colored (pink girls, blue boys) by default, so there is no menu command for color-coding. There is no option for full vs compact hovertext displays.
Main Menu
- Help - opens this Growers Guide
- Cancel
- Rename - only available for hybrid plants (i.e., mom and dad are different strains), this lets you give unique hybrids there own strain names. After renaming, the new strain name persists to future offspring.
- Autopause - sets a plant to automatically pause at 90% maturity. The switch toggles, and the current autopause status is displayed above the menu buttons.
- Public / Private - toggles display of COA, Pedigree, and other messages between "private" (owner only) and "public" visibility.
- COA - displays the plant's "Certificate of Analysis" (stats) in Nearby Chat.
- Pedigree - not available for Generation 1 plants, this shows the Parents' COA information in Nearby Chat.
- Auxin - applies Plant Auxin. See above for more information about how this affects growth rate and fertility. The number of accelerated cycles remaining (if any) is displayed above the menu buttons.
- Germinate / Pause / Resume / Harvest - for seeds, "Germinate" appears so you can start the plant's growth. For seedlings and vegetative plants, "Pause" and "Resume" can be used to stop or start growth. For flowering female plants, the "Harvest" command tells the plant to scan for a flowering male and produce a seed brick. (If a male is not found, a "sensemilla" brick will be produced. This is a little joint-giver.
- Banner - toggles the hovertext display.
- HUD On / HUD Off - toggles the plant for HUD control.
