Burning the Bridge!

Since Version 4 was first released almost five years ago, growers have used the ḈḁṇṇḁḇḭṦḼ Bridge Transmogrifier to update Version 2 & 3 plants to the latest & greatest. The Bridge was an old school standalone Update Transmogrifier that delivered a special ovule that combined Version 2/3 harvesting protocols with Version 4 scripting. The Bridge process took two generations to be done right, and it was a tedious process that stumped a lot of new growers.

During development of Version 4.19.912, the ḈḁṇṇḁḇḭṦḼ Team had to change some of the harvesting protocols yet again to accommodate changes Linden Labs made in the SL Server platform. While implementing these changes, we made a happy discovery: the Bridge was no longer necessary.

Version 2 & 3 mother plants can be directly updated to Version 4.19.912. Simply set your HUD 4.20200120 to "CSLUT On" mode & click the "Update" button in the mother plant's menu. For one-seed mothers, that's all you have to do.

The only trick is that 2- and 3-seed Version 2/3 mothers need to be re-updated between each harvest. Update, harvest the first offspring, update again, harvest the next offspring. If you don't re-update between harvests, the odds of a failed offspring are very high.

Lastly, we have found that Version 2/3 plants that aren't updated will harvest properly on some server versions but not on others. For this reason we recommend that all Version 2/3 mothers be updated to 4.19.912 before harvesting.

Disclaimer: The above information is provided as a courtesy to growers who have older seeds & archived plants. The ḈḁṇṇḁḇḭṦḼ Team cannot guarantee that updating very old seeds will work properly in all situations. (See the ḈḁṇṇḁḇḭṦḼ Terms of Service.) ḈḁṇṇḁḇḭṦḼ does not officially support Version 2 & 3 plants. Version 4 was first released almost five years ago & that's plenty of time. But we realize that a few growers have large "seed banks" extending back almost to the beginning & we want to provide backwards compatibility whenever we can!

ḈḁṇṇḁḇḭṦḼ Version 4.19.912 is now rolling through our HUD Update Server very soon! Whats new?

• Three more HUD groups available (for a total of nine), when used with the new HUD 4.20200120!
• Addresses problems when plants are harvested on SL Server Version 2019-12-16T (and newer)!
• Three new Epic Standards (when all else fails) -- Honduras, Mazar-i-Sharif & Malana Cream.
• As usual, lots of little bug fixes & code clean-ups!

To get the update for your plants, just wear your old HUD 2019. In a few moments, the HUD Update Server will send you a new HUD 2020, which includes the CSLUT for Version 4.19.912.

Along with the regular HUD-based CSLUT, we're releasing an all new "Bridge" for updating Version 2 and 3 plants to the latest "912" scripts! The "Bridge" is an old school standalone updater for folks who grow heirloom plants from seed.

On Cyber Monday, we began a "Native American" hunt around  ḈḁṇṇḁḇḭṦḼ Central featuring a new Nugz set, TOTEM POLE NUGZ

Like other Nugz plants, the plants are 0.5 meters small, medium potency & medium growth rate... AND each one features an inheritable sound FX!  What's more, you'll get a special auto-rezzing display stand that builds your decor plants into a TOTEM POLE!

HUNT FOR THE TOTEM POLE NUGZ ON MONDAY, DECEMBER 2, THROUGH WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 4!

The hunt is "Members Only." To begin, you'll purchase a L$750 kit at ḈḁṇṇḁḇḭṦḼ Central. The kit includes the Totem Pole Rezzer, instructions & a clue to the first stop on the "tour." At the first location, you'll find a hunt vendor, pick up the first LE & get the hint for the second stop. To use the vendor at any location -- there are five stops -- you must have gotten the item from the preceding vendor in the tour.

After completing the hunt, you'll have a full set of TOTEM POLE NUGZ.  (This means you get L$1250 worth of LE seeds plus a rezzer for L$500 less than our regular LE price.) A limited number of regularly-priced additional seed packs (with rezzers) will be available at the end of the hunt only for members who complete the hunt first.

IMPORTANT CRITICAL UPDATE - 4.19.911

The ḈḁṇṇḁḇḭṦḼ Team apologizes for the disruption and inconvenience caused by the Second Life Server updates on November 1 and November 8. These are regressions to issues that were solved in early October, and we were as surprised as you were to see harvesting disrupted again.

A new HUD (4.20191118) has been released. This includes the updater for Version 4.19.911 which addresses the issues that we know about. Update flowering plants before harvesting, because without the update you'll see some very weird stuff (and experience a high failure rate).

You don't have to update all your plants at once. Just update them right before you harvest. Plants will grow normally using the old scripts (v4.19.910 and earlier), so just set them to AutoPause (or pause them manually) before they mature.

At this time, do not use the "bridge" Transmogrifier. Leave Version 2 and 3 plants alone at this time. We hope to have a "bridge" for V2 & V3 available in the near future.

Please follow this check list:

• Be sure you're using the latest HUD (4.20191118) and make sure it's set to CSLUT On.
• If you use bulk updating from the HUD, consider running the update twice. If there are a lot of plants, sometimes they get skipped.
• After updating plants from the new HUD, double-check to make sure the plants' ovules are Version 4.19.911. (Right-click plant, enter edit mode, go to Contents tab, right-click "ovule" & look at the properties.)
• Work only with Version 4 plants. At this time, do not attempt to update V2 or V3 plants.
• If you get a "missing ovule" script error, run the updater on the plant again.
• Work in small batches. Update plants immediately before harvesting.
• If you get errors, consider having your sim restarted if possible.
• If you experience problems, stop harvesting.
