ḈḁṇṇḁḇḭṦḼ AutoPlanter Manual

The ḈḁṇṇḁḇḭṦḼ™ AUTOPLANTER is a garden tool for precision planting seeds, seed
bricks and even dormant plants. Using simple menus, choose circular or rectangular layouts and specify the size of the pattern and the number of seeds to be planted in it. It's refillable, so you can use it over and over.

IT'S EASY AND FUN!  Here's how it works.

(1) REFILL THE AUTOPLANTER.

Click "Refill" in the AutoPlanter menu. CTRL-drag seeds, seed bricks, or dormant plants from your inventory onto the AutoPlanter. (The AutoPlanter will highlight in red when you've dragged properly.) The refilling time is 30 seconds, so click "Refill" again if you need to!

(2) POSITION THE AUTOPLANTER.

Place the AutoPlanter at the center of the planned planting layout. The easiest way is to get the X and Y coordinates from the center of your planter bed and copy them to the AutoPlanter in "Edit" Mode. (Pro Tip: The objects in the planter are rezzed with their object centerpoint -- edit crosshairs -- on the level with the bottom of the AutoPlanter. This works perfectly with seeds, but bricks and dormant plants may be partially embedded & need to be raised, or the bed lowered.)

(3) SELECT & CONFIGURE A PATTERN.

Click "Pattern" on the AutoPlanter Main Menu, and then choose either Circle or Rectangle layout. Depending on the pattern, there are options to further define your planting layout.

Radial Layout (3 Circle Patterns)
Rectangle Pattern (3 X 6)

(a) Circle: Use the "Radius" button in the menu to specify the size of the circular pattern you want. The "Seeds" menu button lets you select 4, 6, or 8 seeds in the circle.

The "Offset" button automagically calculates an offset angle from which the pattern will begin. "Offset" shifts the pattern half-way. This lets you effectively double the number of seeds in the circle with a second pass. For example, a "circle" with 6 seeds will have 60 degree angles between them. A second pass with a 30 degree Offset will place 6 seeds exactly between seeds from the first planting. This gives you a 12 seed circle. Combining offset with a different radius lets you stagger the seeds across the planter.

(b) Rectangle: Use the "Rows" button to specify how many rows to plant. Use "Length" to specify how many seeds to put in each row. Use "Spacing" to set the distance between rows and seeds within rows.

For rectangular layouts, the AutoPlanter calculates how many seeds will be used for the total pattern. If the number of seeds needed for the pattern exceeds the number of seeds loaded in the AutoPlanter, the AutoPlanter will set out as many seeds as it has in it. If you want a full pattern, use "Refill" on the Main Menu to add more seeds to the AutoPlanter before moving to Step 4.

(4) SOW!

Click the "Sow" button and the AutoPlanter will rez out the seeds you have loaded in it in the pattern you've specified!

~~ KEEP READING! THIS IS IMPORTANT! ~~

WARNING! When plants "look" for food (or when females look for males), they scan a defined area. The scan ends after it detects 16 objects in that zone, which can be food but can also be other plants, planters, shovels, etc. This is a limit that SL places on "sensors." Be careful not to make your grow too crowded when using the AutoPlanter!

You can put other ḈḁṇṇḁḇḭṦḼ™ products in an AutoPlanter. Auxin or Plant Food Spikes, for example, can be positioned using this too. If you choose to use the AutoPlanter this way, be careful NOT to mix food or auxin with seeds and bricks. Refill these items separately from seeds, bricks, or dormant plants.

If you get hopelessly messed up configuring a pattern, click "Reset" to restore the default Circle pattern.
