STATS OUTPUT & PARENTS STATS

NEW! Version 2 enhanced stats include a countdown timer for flowering plants. The countdown shows hours to two decimal places (0.01 hr = 1 min 12 sec). Enhanced stats also include a generation indicator and a "Yield" line showing the number of potential offspring for females, as well as tidier output for better reading and copy/paste.

Use "Public" in the ADVANCED MENU to enable Stats and Parents buttons in the GUEST MENU for sales, auctions, etc.

The Parents button appears in menus only for plants beyond the first generation. Parents stats output shows the "raw" numeric values instead of the text labels used in hover text and plant Stats output. Parents' stats output has this format:

Mom: strain, potency, growth rate, lighting, width, bright, height
Dad: strain, potency, growth rate, lighting, width, bright, height
Potency and Growth Rate range from 0.0 (very low/very slow) to 4.0 (very high/very fast).
Lighting is a three point scale where 0 is indoor, 1 is indoor/outdoor, and 2 is outdoor.
Width and height are in Linden meters.
Bright ranges from 0.0 to 1.0, where any value 0.5 or higher exhibits the bright mutation.

UPDATING YOUR PLANTS

ḈḁṇṇḁḇḭṦḼ Version 2 includes an update function to help you keep your breeding stock up-to-date. Please be aware that the update process does not change the current plant but sets it so that its offspring will have the latest scripts and features. Because females pass the "genetic engine" to offspring, it is necessary only to update females.  There is no need to update males.

When an update is ready, announcements will be made in the ḈḁṇṇḁḇḭṦḼ Growers & Breeders Group as well as on this website.  First, check the version number of your plants (it's the last line in Stats output); you may already have the latest scripts! If you need to update, obtain a CannabiSL Update Transmogrifier from the in-world store.

Place the Transmogrifier in the same sim as the plants you want to update. (If you rent a subdivided parcel, you should place the Transmogrifier near your plants on your land.)  For each plant you want to update:
  1. Click the Transmogrifier to activate it. (There will be a message in local chat.)
  2. Click "Update" in the ADVANCED MENU on the plant.
Repeat both steps for each plant you want to update. Messages in local chat will tell you when the update process is complete. Your plant now has the latest scripts to give to its babies!

GERMINATING YOUR PLANTS

To start a new ḈḁṇṇḁḇḭṦḼ seed or seed brick, rez it where you want the plant to grow. The seed is very small, so use the hovertext as a guide and zoom in close. Click on the plant to display the Main Menu and click Germinate. At this time, the Germinate button will change into Pause/Resume. Some SL sparkles may appear as the seed determines its gender and converts into a tiny plant. The Stats will change as well. You can toggle the hovertext Stats display on and off using Banner in the Main Menu.

The plant is now in its vegetative stage. It will increase in size every 90 minutes. The amount of growth per cycle depends on the variety of plant and whether it is fed. If the plant is an indoor variety, it must be within three meters of a ḈḁṇṇḁḇḭṦḼ Grow-Lite. Indoor/outdoor varieties that are placed within three meters of a Grow-Lite grow at an additional 2% per growth cycle.  Lights don't affect outdoor plants.

If you need to move or reposition plants during the vegetative stage, click Pause in the Main Menu to make them dormant. After you move the plant, click Resume to restart growth. If you forget and move a plant without pausing it first, go through a Pause/Resume cycle as soon as possible. The Pause/Resume cycle forces the plant to refresh its location coordinates, ensuring normal growth, and reducing the possibility of problems during breeding.

FEEDING YOUR PLANTS

You do not have to feed CannabiSL plants. Unfed plants grow a minimum one percent (1%) per growth cycle, regardless of their genetic potential growth rate. If fed, plants increase in size by the amount specified in Stats.

Version 2 now supports refillable ḈḁṇṇḁḇḭṦḼ Liquid Plant Food in addition to standard Plant Food Spikes. By default, Plant Food Spikes are used. Click "Liq Food" on the Advanced Menu to switch the plant to Liquid Plant Food. Use the Feed button on the Main Menu to feed plants. Each feeding lasts eight growth cycles (approximately 12 hours).

Standard Plant Food Spikes - Range is 1.5 meters. Spikes last 48 hours.
Liquid Plant Food - Range is 3.0 meters. Refills last 96 hours.

Refer to the Feeding Plants page for more information.

BREEDING YOUR PLANTS

When ḈḁṇṇḁḇḭṦḼ plants reach 100% maturity, they enter the flowering stage. The number of seed or sensi bricks the plant will produce is displayed as Yield in Stats of females.  At this time, the Harvest button will replace Pause/Resume in the Main Menu for females. Males do not have a Harvest button.

Once a plant is flowering, it lives for 100 cycles (a little more than six days). Females may be harvested at any time once they are flowering. Males may be used for breeding for the entire flowering phase.

In order to breed, a flowering male must be within three meters of the female you want to harvest. Click Harvest in the MAIN MENU of the female. If a male is detected, a seed brick will appear near the mother plant.

If the female is capable of producing any additional seeds, the Stats will indicate the change, and the plant may be harvested again. Otherwise, the female will delete itself in approximately 30 seconds after harvest.

You can use the Remove button in the Advanced menu to convert used-up plants to decor items, if desired. Move quickly, because the 30 second window is approximate!

IMPORTANT: ḈḁṇṇḁḇḭṦḼ females use a scripted sensor to detect males for breeding. Second Life limits sensors to 16 objects per scan. If there are more than 15 other plants within three meters of the female, it may fail to detect a male. Remember, scans run in all directions, so look all around the female when counting plants and don't just look between the female and male.

USING THE HUD

The  ḈḁṇṇḁḇḭṦḼ Controller HUD llows you to control three functions for a whole group of CannabiSL plants with two button clicks:

  •     Toggle banner on/off
  •     Switch between public/private messaging
  •     Feed plants
  •     Select Liquid Plant Food or Plant Food Spikes

You can give a copy of the HUD to a friend so they can take care of your plants while you're offline. And your HUD can be quickly set to control different groups of plants.  Here's how.

(1) SET UP EACH PLANT. On the plant menu, the first time you click the "HUD On" button, you will be prompted to enter a password.  Enter the same password for all plants you want to control together as a group.  Enter the password in the textbox using the prefix PASS: followed by your password.  For example, to use "CannabiSL" as your HUD password, type PASS:CannabiSL and click "Submit."
Important:  If you omit the PASS: prefix when setting the HUD password, your plant will be renamed to what you intended to be your password!
Passwords may contain upper and lower case letters, and numbers. The password is used only to set up a unique communication channel for your plants, so there is no need to have an especially "strong" password. Three or four letters and numbers is plenty.

Click "HUD On" again, and your plant is set up.  The "HUD On" button will change to "HUD Off," so that's your cue that the plant has been configured. Hint: We've found that the best time to set a HUD password is before you germinate a ḈḁṇṇḁḇḭṦḼ seed or brick.

You can use different passwords for different groups of plants as well, and setting up passwords creatively lets you intermix your plants with those belonging to another breeder.

(2) WEAR YOUR HUD. If the HUD has never been configured before, you will immediately be asked to enter a password.  Enter the same password the same way you did for the plants.  (Remember to use the PASS: prefix!) Your HUD is now ready to control all plants that you've configured with that password.  Just click the HUD icon to display the menu.

As long as the HUD is configured with the same password as the plants, anyone can control your plants. This makes it possible for you to set up a HUD so a (trusted) friend can feed your plants if you're away from SL for a day or two. However, if you rez the HUD on the ground rather than wearing it, anyone can control your plants, and that might be a Very Bad Thing™.  Use your own discretion if rezzing the HUD instead of wearing it!

You can change the password to control a different group of plants by clicking the "Password" button and entering a new password.

Use the "Banner," "Privacy," and "Feed" buttons in the HUD menu the same way you'd use them for individual plants. The "Liq Food" and "Std Food" buttons work like the toggling "Liq/Std" button on plants. The difference is that all the plants you've set up with the same password will be controlled at once! The HUD has an effective range of approximately 30 meters.
Tip: Set Privacy to "Private" so stats and messages displayed in local are only visible to you.  Set it to "Public" if you'd like other people to be able to view stats for your plants. (When a plant's set to "Public" viewing, anyone who clicks on your plants will have "Stats" and "Parents" buttons in the Guest Menu.)
Use the "Cancel" button to close the HUD menu in a lag-friendly way.  You can always display the menu again by clicking the on-screen HUD icon.
