MANDALA! A new series & a new way to get it!

The ḈḁṇṇḁḇḭṦḼ™ Team went to the Far East to bring back the first Limited Edition Set of 2017, MANDALA. This low potency, slow growing outdoor beauty is medium large, 2.25 meters tall, with an amazing meditative foliage and a hypnotic Rainbow Burst FX.

But that's not all. MANDALA is the debut of a new breeding twist, Special Edition Foliage Mutations. It isn't a single LE; it's a set! But you have to work to get it...

MANDALA seeds normally display the MANDALA foliage but are capable of throwing four other mutant foliages: GANESHA, PARVATI, SHIVA, and CHAKRAS. The sequence cycles over 16 generations with the mutants appearing about twice as often as dwarf or giant plants (or half as often as males).

The potency, growth rate, and size stats increase through the set, too. GANESHA is medium potency and growth rate and honors the Hindu patron of arts and sciences; PARVATI is high, fast, and represents love and devotion (although from the number of arms she's showing, she might be a little perturbed); SHIVA is very high and very fast just like the Lord of Bhang; and, CHAKRAS is extreme growing superweed that will take your consciousness to new heights (a huge 4.5 meters, to be exact)! All retain the amazing Rainbow Burst FX (unless you breed something else in ;-)

To get the whole set, you'll need a supply of MANDALA seeds, time, luck, and a little help from your friends.  :-)

For the first 4 generations, there's a 1-in-25 chance of GANESHA being thrown, followed by PARVATI in generations 5-8, SHIVA in generations 9-12, and CHAKRA in generations 12-16. The cycle then repeats for the next 16 generations and so on.  And yes, GANESHA, PARVATI, SHIVA, and CHAKRAS are capable of throwing other mutants, but a mutant can never throw another MANDALA.

As with many other ḈḁṇṇḁḇḭṦḼ™ features, Special Edition Foliage Mutations were suggested by a Grower! The  ḈḁṇṇḁḇḭṦḼ™ Team takes your ideas seriously, and we remain committed to making growing and breeding ḈḁṇṇḁḇḭṦḼ™ in Second Life fun, challenging, and rewarding! Happy  Growing!

The Fine Print...

Special Edition seeds will be released periodically, designated by a version number with the "SE" suffix. The numeric portion of the version number will match our latest regular release, and all other functions will be the same. The number of alternate foliages, the number of generations in the cycle, and the odds may differ.

SE capabilities are passed by a special "SE" ovule, so breeding lines are maternal. SE plants will lose their special mutation capabilities if they are upgraded. This means that plants with the "base" foliage should not be updated, while plants with any of the special foliages can be updated to a non-SE ovule to "lock in" the unique foliage and prevent further mutations.

World Boogie is Coming! Introducing Version 4.19.9

The ḈḁṇṇḁḇḭṦḼ Team is pleased to introduce Version 4.19.9. This is a major upgrade with significant changes to what happens "behind the scenes" during the harvesting process.

These changes let us give you some exciting new MAJOR FEATURES:

    * Male plants can now pass their FX to offspring,
    * A new "Glow" trait that adds four levels above & below "full bright",
    * A new "Tint" trait that adds an underlying color to foliages.
 
Additionally, Version 4.19.902 has ALL-NEW HUD functionality including bulk updating, the ability to pause/resume batches of plants from the HUD, user-configurable HUD buttons, HUD range control, and buddy capabilities. THE AUCTION DILEMMA or WHAT THE HELL TO SELL?

It's just before dawn on Wednesday morning...you know Gleaux or Zoey Rose will be up and around checking the panels are full for the 4.20 Auction...yours isn't yet and you're staring at the inventory drawing a blank.

Even after years it's something that can stump us all and we all want to avoid the dreaded "FUTURE SALE".  That being said, auctions and public tastes are capricious beasties.  Even with what you think are the best of your plants, opening at an insane price; the panel you think is awesome may still go completely unnoticed or sell with little interest.  Often it depends on the time of the month, the season and other unpredictable factors like two random breeders from opposite sides of SL both needing the very strain you happen to be selling on the week they both attend.

As unpredicatble as Auctions can be there are some general rules of thumb I follow to get best results.  With only one future sale under my belt in four years we thought it was high time to share the Top 10 with my "phellow pharmers".

CAP'S TOP TEN TIPS FOR SELECTING AUCTION PLANTS

1. Avoid 1-seed females wherever possible, unless by necessity in a mutant LE breeding pair
2. Avoid Standard strains completely unless they're discontinued AND rare (eg. Rocky Mountain High, Cascadia Crush)
3. Rare, discontinued Standard strains should be auctioned as a 2 or 3-seed female with male breeding pair
4. Standard strains hybridized with FX should be at least a 2-seed female with male breeding pair
5. Closer to perfect stats = higher the likely final sale price
6. 3-seed LE perfect stats breeding pairs started at baseline price almost always sell, regardless of rarity and time of month
7. Solo 2 or 3-seed female or male mutants (dwarfs, giants, etc) should open as close to baseline as possible
8. Rarer single mutants (ultras, superweeds and double mutations), rare LE 3-seed pairs and seed boxes are more likely to sell for higher prices and are safer to open at higher prices
9. The rarer the LE or mutation the higher you can start the opening price
10. Don't overprice - the profit only goes up if you open at baseline - auctions stop dead when buyers suffer sticker shock.  If you want $5K for the items on your panel, it's a slow month, and panels have been selling low, be prepared for a "FUTURE SALE" or consider selling on a plot at retail prices.
